ABOUT US

Welcome to CB Pro Coaching, We are a horsham based footballing academy that provides high quality professional training for players aged between 8-13, with the desire to improve their game to allow them to develop as individuals and contribute more to their teams.

Craig Brewster has lived in Horsham for nearly 10 years now and has a passion for coaching and getting the best out of our next generation of footballers. Craig was a professional footballer who chalked up 700 games over a 25-year career scoring nearly 200 goals in the process, arguably, his most important was in the Scottish Cup Final whilst playing for his boyhood team, Dundee United. Not only did it win the game but brought the trophy to Tannadice for the first time in its 84-year history, after many failed attempts. Although Craig was the goal-scoring hero that day, he is very quick to point out the role of everyone at the Club especially the players and backroom staff who all played as one to defeat, odds-on favourites, Glasgow Rangers, who themselves were chasing a history breaking back-to-back double-treble of trophies (League, Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup).

Craig was signed by Dundee United as a young boy but suffered the heartbreak of being released several years later.

He then entered semi-professional football and instead of treating the less-demanding standards as a way to coast his way through matches, he worked harder and applied the good habits ingrained in him at Dundee United.  It did not take long before Forfar Athletic Football Club offered him a route back to the professional game. Even though he was playing at a lower level, he worked hard at his game. Raith Rovers FC was the next club to enlist the services of the free-scoring midfield/ forward. Again, going up a level, Craig, revelled in his role in the team and, yet again, he was targeted by a top-level side…Dundee United, who paid handsomely for his return to Tannadice. A fruitful period was then enjoyed by both with 40 goals scored in 90 games over a three-season spell. Craig then enjoyed a very successful 5-year term with Ionikos FC of Athens scoring 45 times in 155 appearances. Thereafter, it was a return to Scotland where he played for Hibernian, Dunfermline, inverness Caledonian Thistle (twice), Dundee United, Aberdeen and Ross County.

As motivation for youngsters never to give up, Craig’s story is quite special. After being rejected by his boyhood team he found his way back and scored the winning goal for them in front of 37, 450 people, thus creating history and denying the best team in Scotland, at that time, the chance of a never achieved before feat.

Having played under legendary Scottish managers such as Jim McLean, Walter Smith and Alec McLeish and Russian internationalist Oleg Bloghin it was unsurprising that Craig became interested in pursuing a role career once his playing career. In 2008 Craig attained his UEFA Pro Licence.

Craig’s managerial career took him to Inverness Caledonian Thistle (twice) and Dundee United and Crawley Town as caretaker manager (twice). There were also spells as assistant manager at Ross County, Crawley Town, Whitehawk and Plymouth Argyle. He also worked as a youth coach with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Craig is now Head of coaching for youth development at Horsham FC, this is why he set up CB Pro Coaching as part of a long term strategy to try and attract and develop the best local talent to help them achieve an enjoyable and successful career path with the aim of helping the club achieve elite status in youth football.
